Life with Su Getting old Next year I will be 40 and, to be honest, I'm not too bothered about it but I have noticed recently that I have been having a lot more beauty treatments. Maybe it's because I caught a glimpse of myself one morning as I stepped into the studio and realised that I am turning into my mother. So, actually, it's self preservation more than beauty. My latest preservation, sorry-treatment, is permanent make-up. I have had my eyebrows tattooed and it is absolutely brilliant. Before I had them done you could hardly see them because they were so fine. I had to pencil them in all the time, which I found a bit of a pain when not wearing make-up and quite often Martin would make comments about how I didn't have any. I am incredibly happy with my new eyebrows - they look natural. Look into my eyes I read recently that a certain hypnotist admitted that he had managed to convince his girlfriend that she wanted to order a takeaway curry even though she didn't actually like it. This made me wonder whether he has ever managed to get a girlfriend since? Who in their right mind would date a hypnotist after reading that? I know I wouldn't. Just think about it if he is capable of doing such a thing, what else could he have you doing? How could you ever trust them and how dare they abuse their power like that. Very naughty. Have a Heart This month sees Heart's charity 'have a heart' take part in their first ever 'have a heart appeal'. It is to raise money for the Starlight Children's Foundation. This is an amazing charity that grant wishes to seriously ill children and their families at their most difficult times. The money raised helps provide an escape from their illness, it gives something to look forward to and something that the whole family can enjoy, whist forgetting about the day-to-day routine of treatment. The Starlight Children's Foundation also provide fun centres for hospitals. The fun centre is a mobile unit that houses a TV, DVD and games console that can be wheeled to a child's bedside to provide a distraction from the pain and boredom they may be going through. Money raised in Essex will stay in Essex! So how can you help? Well, you can download a fundraising pack from our website at heart.co.uk and get involved. Listen to Su Harrison on Heart Essex from 6 – 10am Monday to Friday and 8am – 12pm Saturdays Heart 96.3 102.6FM www.heart.co.uk
