The Ducane is located in the heart of the Essex village of Great Braxted and is close to the A12 and just of the Maldon Road B1022. Nestled in the heart of Great Braxted and fronted by a magnificent oak tree The Ducane is one of Essex’s best kept secrets. Jonathan Brown has created a relaxed and informal gastro pub serving excellent locally sourced ingredients cooked with passion and accompanied by a wide range of locally produced ales and an extensive wine list.
Making the most of The Ducane, s location menu regularly features Braxted reared Beef and lamb, locally landed fish from Mersea, pork and gammons from Wicks manor farm and fruit and vegetables from the local farms.
Cooking to the highest of standards Jonathan and his team headed by Samantha Brown and Louise Partis aim to exceed customers expectations. With extensive gardens to the front and rear The Ducane is ideal for a lazy lunch in the sun or a cheeky pint.
The Ducane regularly holds events and supports the Green jackets Morris dancers and several local artists, music nights and theme nights including gourmet food and wine evenings which have proved popular.
The Ducane can cater for outside events, or can be exclusively hired for either corporate or social events or makes for the ideal venue for an informal wedding breakfast, christening or birthday party.
Date the chef is another popular feature allowing the discerning customer to book their own private chef and service for the night for that very special occasion.
